Engineers deal with soil, formation, structures, remediation and drainage using a fully owned specialist fleet. Topsoil stripped from site can be stockpiled for reuse.

  • Site survey, design and project management
  • Vegetation removal, topsoil strip and cut-and-fill earthworks
  • Primary and secondary drainage, sand slits and laser levelling
  • Sand amelioration, turf or specialist seed, then grow-in contracts

End of season work is how a surface stays playable year after year. The programme depends on the pitch. For new construction, Profile® is typically blended at 10 to 20% by volume with sand, rootzone or native soil.

  • Surface removal, cultivation, sports sand, drainage and sand slit installation
  • Deep tine aeration or Airter® pneumatic aeration to relieve compaction and move water
  • Profile® porous soil amendment to aid germination, moisture and deep rooting
  • Disc or dimple seeding with ryegrass blends, or re-turfing, then fertiliser
Profile® soil amendment

Tillers Hybrid Turf is a carpet-reinforced system (Limonta Sport) grown and maintained off-site to the club’s specification, then harvested, transported in temperature-controlled vehicles and laid by specialist installers. It extends the window for stadium events without compromising the pitch, and avoids the standard six-week shutdown of a stadium-stitched hybrid. Supply-only or full turnkey. After use, around 90% of recovered sand can be reclassified to USGA specification and 10% to landscape grade.

Hybrid turf

Fineturf can assist with every aspect of artificial football and rugby pitch construction, including design and specification, groundworks, installation, resurfacing and upgrading, plus fencing, floodlighting and peripheral landscaping.

Process

How we deliver the work.

  1. Project planning and site setup

Following a site survey, project design and planning, vegetation is removed.

  2. Topsoil strip and earthworks

Existing topsoil is stripped and can be stockpiled for reuse, with cut and fill earthworks if required.

  3. Drainage and laser levelling

Primary and secondary drainage installation and sand slits, followed by topsoil replacement, sand amelioration and laser levelling.

  4. Prepare final surface

The pitch is consolidated and a pre-turf fertiliser applied before sports turf is laid or specialist seed sown.
