Tillers Hybrid Turf is a partnership between Tillers Turf and Fineturf. Grass is grown in a specially selected carpet base with sand infill for drainage, then maintained to the stadium groundstaff regime. When the surface is needed it is precision-harvested, moved in temperature-controlled vehicles and laid by specialist installers. Supply-only or full turnkey from specification through to installation.

How the system is built
Grass grown in a hybrid carpet, ready to lay and play.
Stitched hybrid pitches typically need around six weeks out of play. A custom-grown reserve pitch lets clubs host concerts and other events, then put a match surface down without that shutdown. It also covers mid-season failure without the operational and reputational risk of a dead pitch.
- Mitigates operational, financial and reputational risk of pitch failure
- Return on investment for a full events calendar
- Consistency, each pitch is grown to the club’s specification
- Speed of installation compared with stadium-stitched hybrid
The hybrid carpet uses polyethylene fibres in a polyolefin backing. After shredding, screening and washing, recovered material can be separated: around 90% of the sand can be reclassified to USGA specification for high-performance turf, and around 10% to landscape grade.
Hybrid is one option alongside natural turf construction and artificial pitches.

The hybrid carpet uses polyethylene fibres anchored in a polyolefin backing (polyethylene and polypropylene), which can be shredded, screened and washed for recycling. After that separation, around 90% of the recovered sand can be reclassified to USGA specification for high-performance turf and rootzone, and around 10% to landscape grade.
